Shoulder expansion and slouching
« on: October 30, 2012, 11:04:00 AM »
Gang,

I posted a while ago about losing DL. I attributed it to finally finding my anchor.  I am shooting pretty good but I definitely feel as though I am slumping/slouching/hunching over.  Or leaning into the target.  I was watching some instruction form videos and it speaks of expanding the shoulders/chest.

My question is when fully opening up like that are you inviting chest/arm slap on release? How do I expand all the way without getting te string into the body?

This is what I was watching

Good question.  I just starting to work on better back expansion and I'm having trouble with the slap.  (I've only been at it for a day) I assume I'm doing something wrong, so I'll be watching the responses to this...

Good video.....he has a horizontal rotation like me...and talks about the "j" which is also in the form clock thread along with pics of the expansion position vs slumping.

And remember,..Slumping, leaning toward the target, short drawing or collapsing has nothing to do with canting the bow.

Terry,
How do I get to the form clock? When I click on the form clock picture it takes me to TG homepage.  Thanks
