East St. Louis area/ Illinois?
« on: November 21, 2007, 12:08:00 PM »
Any Tgers in the Glen Carbon Area?  Any shops around here?  Bowyers?  I'd love to visit a "real" bowshop.  Nixa/ Black Widow is a bit far.  I am here with the inlaws for a week...and might need a getaway.

There's a few of us in STL and on the outskirts.  I think there's a shop near the airport that has a few trad shooters there, but can't recall the name (maybe Midwest Archery Outfitters?)

Belleville !! I was there for 3 days last October for my uncles wedding. If only me and my dad knew there was a trad archery shop there! We actually walked around the woods outside our Shrine Hotel looking for deer sign. We did however get I love Belleville t-shirts. Maybe someday we will return to hunt.

Belleville is close!  I was just there at the Lady of the Shrine light show last night!  Saw some deer on the way out too.

Just a few more miles east on 15 and you would be at Town Hall Archery. Get off at Frank Scott Parkway. Just before you get off you can see it on the right. I haven't been there for a while (been huntng) but should be there this Sat.

doowop usually brings several baked goods his wife makes. Worth going just for those.  :)

Mike,
You can buy an Illinois non-resident antlerless archery tag over the counter for $15.50 so maybe you can spend a little time on some public ground hunting.
If that doesn't work out, I am about 3 hours north of St. Louis in the SE corner of Iowa.  I will be hunting this weekend if you get to bored and up for a drive, shoot me a PM or e-mail, no Iowa tags to be had, but you could sure sit one of my stands and take in the scenary.
Be sure to check out the St. Louis Zoo.  Not archery related, but really a nice place.  It is open in the winter and free admission.  We drive down there a couple times a year.
