anyone used the Jackals in wet conditions? it seems it might be kind of slick too. Guess stalking type boots are a trade off in the best traction.
I have 2 pairs of Danners, The Acadia, and desert acadia boots. both are very comfortable, great support and tough. But they are heavy.
the deserts are too hot for the desert but very comfy from 65 down to freezing temps with appropriate socks. Soles are vibram lug, great for traction but these ain't no stalking boots. But your feet will love you at the end of the day. I have had my black boots resoled once, and danner can rebuild them for you too.
The goretex boots hold water in pretty well, when you are paying more attention to the grizzly you just saw, than to where you are putting your feet when fishing from the edge of a COLD Alaskan lake. Don't ask me how i know this
At least it was not deep, only up to my neck :D but man it takes your breath away!
