First of all, you have not isolated or identified your problem, or asked any questions that could solve your dilemma. So, let’s break it down and see if we can solve this problem. I hope other like Mcdave, or Mobow will chime in.
Here is your post broken down sentence by sentence.
I have been shooting trad for a little over a year now.
(my opinion)This is plenty of time to develop some kind of consistent form. How much do you practice?
I have developed a shooting form that is consistent and works for me.
(question) What is that form? Need more information, or a video.
As of late, I have tried to finish my shots using my back muscles more than just releasing with my fingers.
(my opinion) Your release is probably one of the most important parts of the shot.
Upon release, my bow rotates to the left ( I am a right handed shooter by the way).
(my opinion) If your bow rotates to the left after the shot, then your torqueing your bow. It is caused by:
1) Holding your hand off-center with the grip, which is likely to result in your twisting the bow (torqueing) at the moment of the release; and
2) Grasping the bow tightly and/or catching its forward movement while the arrow is being released, both of which can also lead to torque/twisting.
I have seen other shooters who are successful with this bow reaction and I was just wondering if this would elicit a weak arrow reaction if there is another form flaw involved?
(my opinion) What bow reaction? Torqueing, or rotating in your hand? This is a flaw and should be corrected. Just because someone else is successful with this flaw, don’t make it right. You should do everything you can to correct this problem.
My shot process is as follows:
I set my hand in the bow with my thumb pointing towards the target my glove hand as I shoot 3 under is held with my fingers perpendicular to the string with the back of my hand remaining flat I draw and anchor and keep my bow arm solid while squeezing my back together until I can get my hand to deaden and come off the string.
(my opinion) This statement is too wordy, and hard to analyze without seeing an actual video or picture). It may not even be relevant to your problem.
I am working on tuning arrows and wondering if I will need to get some different components/arrows.
(my opinion) Tuning, and form problems are two different issues. There is no way anyone could advise you without a more definitive explanation.
Between trad gang and MBB..I don't have any tuning questions, just a form question for now.
(my opinion) So, exactly what are the problems you are having. It’s hard to differentiate between form or tuning when you are not asking any specific questions, or explaining exactly what problems you are having.
I will work on some video in the meantime.
(my opinion) Please do!
Hope this helps, or sparks more input from other tradgangers.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong!
Thanks
