TP Free 2 years!
« on: July 11, 2013, 09:22:00 PM »
I was out shooting tonight and realized that it has been two years ago this month since I have struggled with target panic.  I had it bad!  Over the years it progressively got worse.  I had finally decided two years ago to stop trying to treat it and look for a cure.  It wasn't an easy road and there were no quick fixes for me, but it was a cure I was after.
The one thing that my recover was based around, was developing a repeatable shot sequence.  A lot of things lead up to that and a lot of work was needed to complete that task, but it made for a real cure for me, not some Band-Aid to cover it up and allow me to struggle along telling myself that it was fixed.
For those that have struggled with it and beat it, congratulations!  For those that are still struggling with it, know that it can be beat!  For those that have never experienced it, know that you are truly blessed!

Chris,  Congrats as a current TP sufferer and the reigning poster child of the dreaded disease (ask Ol Possum Head And Pascagoula Archer, Champ38 etc....), That is an accomplishment!

I went to Rod Jenkins clinic, I told him I have TP. He said  "NO you don't", you have a shot sequence problem. I bought into this and its helping. My shot sequence is getting better. I have hope and my confidence is getting great.

I've had it and don't even wanna think about it! Having said that beating it for me was not too terribly difficult. I simply started going through my shot sequence at very close range with my eyes closed in the basement over the winter. It was actually more fun than I thought it would be. Take the aiming part out of shooting for awhile and your form gets better and you break the TP problem. When I finally got back to shooting at longer distances and aiming, it took my brain very little time to remember how to aim. Good luck out there guys!
