ever shooting clinics near wi.
« on: November 23, 2013, 08:37:00 AM »
I would love to go to a Rick Welch or Rod Jenkins clinic, or anyone else comparable, but it seems they are always 500-1000 miles away. Do they ever come near the state of Wisconsin?

I would be very interested in taking a class too. I think if Rod gets 12 students, he'll come. If Arne Moe gets 10, he says he will come. His lessons are free, but we pay for his lodging, meals, and gas from Minnesota.

Only gas and lodging.  I'd have to eat in any case -- home or on the road.     :)

If anyone in Wisconsin wants to put together a class with Moebow I'm in.  I've been shooting bows for 50+ years and can always learn something that improves my shooting.

Folks,

There are already 6 or 7 here that have expressed an interest.  I'm game!  No magic in the "10" count, just don't really want more than that.

What we would need is an indoor range that we could use(commandeer) for 2 days.  Looks like most of you here on this thread are in the Madison area?

If this is something you would like to do, let's have at it. I will put together a class overview and try to tailor the class to YOUR needs and interests.  It'll take me a couple days to put that together. In the mean time, if you want to email me, I'll send it out when I get it done.
[email protected]

If you haven't seen my videos, they will give you a fair look at what I present.

This is not a business for me which means no cost to you except my lodging (Super 8 is just fine - 3 nights for a 2 day class) and gas.

Let me know IF this is something you are interested in.

McMiller if you get any better you might be able to dead center hit a beer can at 42 yds.   :saywhat:

Actually Pete beats me every time at a shoot I just was more focused when the target was a beer can. My 15 minutes of fame that he says I've been stretching out for months.    :archer2:

We have two indoor ranges in Monroe, WI.
I know I could line up the use of one of them for the class.

Monroe is in the southern part of WI. one hour south of Madison. If some northern IL Trad shooters would be interested we could get something setup with Moebow.

Otherwise I would be willing to drive several hours if someone else has another location in mind.

Here lies the problem i have, everything traditional, tends to go one in the western or southern part of the state, i am in NE wi, madison would be like a 4hr drive for me, i would much more prefer it to be about 2hrs or less. I will keep checking this post to see where you guys would prefer to hold this event, if need be i guess i could drive and motel it also.  Dave

Arne's class would be worth driving anywhere in the state to, if it's Monroe, or anywhere.  What we can learn from him would be advantageous to us all. It would be great if we can put this together, if not I'm taking some vacation time and going to him!     :archer2:

Someone grab the bull by the horns and make it happen.  It makes more sense for one (me) to drive and hotel than for several.  ANY are welcome to come see me nearly anytime BUT if you can get together and find a sight to host us, it'll cost you less collectively.  About the ONLY time frame that is off the table right now is the last 2 weeks of April and the first week of May. Essentially from 22 April to 8 May.

For the record, what you see in my videos is pretty much what you can expect to get as far as form theory and instruction.  What the videos don't show or address is the mental approach discussions, shot sequence, practice plan and the hands on  coaching.

What a clinic from me won't do is magically make you a better shooter -- that is your job. But you will get the tools and ideas and individual plans to progress (there's always "homework" when you take a class).     :readit:    :archer2:
