Looks pretty good to me Dennis!
Terry or others might be able to find something to work on, but I don't see much.  Thanks for posting, I enjoy watching shooting vids and how each of us have different styles.

LBF,

Overall, I agree with NBK.  You may not be getting full bone on bone support at full draw -- see the movement you have at anchor?

But overall pretty darn good!!

NBK & Moebow,

Thank you so much! I'm actually floored and surprised that I'm doing as well as I am. I still feel like i've got a long way to go to be a good shooter but after hearing your comments, I know I'm on the right track.

Arne,

I know what you mean about the full draw movement. When I get to full draw, I feel like I'm struggling to expand my draw and pull through the shot. Any advice on how best to achieve bone on bone contact at full draw?

If you haven't, take a look at the "rubber band" video.  See if that helps any.

Thanks Arne. BTW: Are you coming to the Madison area for a shooting clinic? I know the class is full (probably) and my work schedule most likely wouldn't allow me to attend, but if possible I'd like to stop by to meet some of you guys/gals.

We have been discussing a Madison area clinic, but nothing definite that I've heard about yet.  If we do have one, you're certainly welcome to stop by.

Looks great Dennis!  Arne is the man, so we'll leave all the critiquing to him.

I do believe I've seen one of those bows before!

I am just curious, what do your groupings look like at 20 yards? On average how far apart are your arrows from shot to shot?

GF13,

My groups vary with the bow I'm shooting and if I'm having a good day. I probably shoot my Super D the best right now because I've shot it the most. I can keep most of my arrows in a 2-3" grouping at 20 yards with the occasional flyer. I've really been trying to work on my form and not be too concerned about my groupings. Mobow says if you develop good form, good groupings will follow. That said, I think I'm over-holding. I'm going to work on cutting down on my hold time at full draw to see if that improves my groups.

OK.....I see one thing I'm going to comment on at this time......don't want too much in your head.

Watching your 2nd video....I noticed that you have tension in your string hand on the last shot...you recurl your fingers after release....the 1st two shots you 'dropped the string' and the fingers were relaxed.

I think this will fix itself with time as you start to 'ignore' your release...meaning you wont 'tell yourself' to release....it will just happen.  Try not to 'release'....just 'let go' of the string.

I'm glad you mentioned that, Terry. I noticed my string hand being closed in the video too. I wasn't sure what to think about it, good or bad. Thanks for pointing that out. You're right. I am in a conscious thought process when I release. When I reach full draw, I'm consciously pulling/expanding slightly during the release cycle and consciously thinking about the release.

Dennis...I'll study further when I get a chance...and see what else I see.  Just don't fret it....the 'let go' will come with time.
