Tab coming off on release
« on: April 17, 2014, 08:29:00 PM »
I am a lefty and shot that way for years before going righty for the last several years. I shoot both sides ok. I shoot 3 under with a tab. When I shoot righty my tab is loose but stays on just right upon release. While shooting lefty I have a tight fitting tab but it comes off most of the time on release or just barely stays on. I'm a straight up and down bow shooter and shoot identically both sides. It feels the same except for the tab issue.

Any idea what's happening/

thanks
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

John,

Hard to say without seeing how you have the tab on your hand.  I'm not sure that I've ever seen that with a tab.  I have seen the finger stalls on a glove pop off the fingers but that is a different animal.  The "loop" or hole in the tab should be as far down on your finger as you can get it -- think ring position or farther.

Got any pictures of your tab on the hand?

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

Hi John,  I have the same problem!  I also shoot left handed and use a very well broken in bateman tab with the elastic loop.  I shoot split finger and have removed the upper leather index finger portion as I lay my index finger along the string.  I take a very deep hook with my middle and ring finger. The elastic of the tab is as close to my hand as I can get it but it runs up that finger at the shot sometimes.  Very often the tab will come nearly off and sometimes it hits the ground.  It is very distracting.  I had shot 3 under for about a year and interestingly did not have a problem with a traveling tab.  Hopefully someone will enlighten us.

If i can get pictures at our 3D shoot this weekend, maybe my "warfed" tab can help.No camera here.Been thinking about a "how to" anyway.
Stopped my floppy tab for sure.
