I am new to archery and maybe this is common knowledge, but I was unable to find anything in a search of the form forum-
My question is this: What sort of grip should you have on the bow when shooting?
I seem to recall reading at some point that it should be light enough so as to only be supported by the hand, with the fingers just wrapped around enough to keep the bow from falling after release. When I do this, my shots all go high as if the bow is tilting up as soon as I release.
I am able to control that by having a firm (but not tight) grip on the bow.
Is there a "right" way to grip the bow, or is it just what works for you? I don't want to develop any bad habits this early on.
If it's relevant, I am shooting a 40# Grizzly with a draw around 29"
