The theory is that three fingers under the arrow puts more stress on the lower limb, affecting the timing as they return to brace height causing more noise and vibration. In my experience, raise your nock point about 1/8" and don't worry about it. I've never really noticed a difference.

Even tiller and/or raiing the nockset works for most folks.  I needed the capability to dial in some negative tiller (ILF or have it built) and it worked wonders.
