A New Convert To Trad Archery
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:00:00 AM »
Greetings everyone!

My Name is Stephen and I have been interested in Trad Archery for some time now. However, I've recently jumped in with both feet as I have ordered a custom bow from Sarrels Archery out of South Austin. I'd like to publicly thank Bob and Zach from there as they are great guys and build what I believe to be a wonderful bow. I'd also like to thank Bisch for pointing me toward those guys and for some initial tips. He's quite the shooter/hunter!
I'll most likely have many questions to come in the future! All wisdom and experience I can glean from you all is greatly appreciated. I've hunted with just about every weapon I can think of and this is certainly the most challenging and rewarding one yet. I feel like a kid again. You experienced trad archers certainly have my utmost respect! I'll post pics as the new bow takes shape.    :jumper:

Welcome Stephen.  Getting hooked up with the Sarrel's and Bisch just means you're off to a good start.  Look forward to meeting you.

Thanks Guys!

Here are a few pics of my new Sarrel's longbow in progress. Bob said she needs some more work and will be done in a few weeks. She was shootable, although not tuned at all yet. I took two practice shots with her as is and hit about two inches from where I was looking at 12 yards.

She's looking mighty fine!

I posted the pics of the progress of the new bow, but the appear as links instead of posting in the actual body of the post. Suggestions anyone?

What you did worked okay, because you can just click on the link and the images come up.

If you want the actual images to be in your post, click "full reply form" and then click "image" where you want the picture to appear in your text.  Within the image box paste the image code from wherever your image is located.

Sometimes this doesn't work, so it is always a good idea to click "preview" before you click the final post.  Then you can play around with it a little more if you need to.

Nice bow, BTW!
