Close one eye?
« on: December 29, 2016, 09:51:00 AM »
I find that if I close my left eye(RH shooter) as I begin the draw, I focus on the spot a whole lot better and shoot a better shot. Anyone else shoot with one eye closed?

I shoot split fingered.

I don't, but from watching the IBO Masters video which is also posted on the Shooters Form Forum, some of the Masters do their final aiming with one eye closed.  I would encourage anyone to try different things; if they work, fine, if not, discard them.

I am an old fossil. I shot everything, firearms of all types and bows of all types with both eyes open for decades. I find now that I get more refined targeting with my off eye closed. I think that it may be due to a degradation of that eye or brain dysfunction.....not sure. I feel like I am doing the wrong thing but it sure helps nowadays to close the offside eye.
