Winter glove
« on: November 25, 2007, 12:37:00 PM »
Is there a winter shooting glove out there?
After a few decades of working with power tools,
my fingers are pretty cold sensitive, and I'd like
to go rabbit hunting from December through February
which can be pretty cold here in Nova Scotia. I've used insulated leather work gloves which work ok, sortof, but would like to find something made for the purpose.
I'm a new member, love this site, learned a lot just reading the last couple of weeks.

Hey Fellow Canuck,

I have been using the Cabelas "Full Archer's Glove" at temperatures as low as minus 15 C in full comfort.

 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424-cat20082&id=0004459410276a&navCount=8&p odId=0004459&parentId=cat20082&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QW&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20082&hasJS=true

I have to qualify this by saying that I am a ground hunter and so I am pretty much always on the move; when I am, my hands and everything else gets hot so the single leather/fleece layer in these gloves is enough to keep my hand warm, while at the same time, being thin enough to be able to manipulate the bow and arrows.

Of course I would always recommend having a spare pair of heavy mitts in your pack for contingencies.

cheers

Robert

Try one of the Mittens that open up and fold over backwards. I wear one with My tab inside ready to go ,and a regular glove for My bow hand
