Sea gulls (shite hawks)
« on: July 04, 2003, 10:57:00 AM »
The most common complaint with regards to eating these birds is that they taste "fishy". Sea-birds have been a staple of the people of the islands of Scotland for centuries, but only thru necessity. If they had the option of a nice juicey rib-eye, they sureley would have jumped at it. There are many dishes from around the world that combine sea-food and poultry. Spanish paella for one, but the dishes that spring to mind with strong flavors of fish and foul to me, are from south east asia. Thai style curries. I think these are the sort of dishes that might just turn the humble herring gull into a real delicacy. Now where was I, here gully gully gully!  :D

The fishing would have to be extremely bad for me to consider eating a Sea Gull. They are nothing more than saltwater buzzards.

Your right about seagulls, they will eat anything dead or alive, where I'm from they were regarded as a rat with wings....warf
