caveman crackers
« on: July 21, 2011, 09:57:00 PM »
got this recipie from a buddie of mine years ago and have been eating them ever since
1 box of saltines
1 cup of canola oil
2 packs of ranch dressing mix
and crushed red peppers to taste i use 3 tables spoons .
dump whole package of crackers in gallon ziplock or tupperware container .
then mix oil ranch dressing and peppers together and pour over crackers shaking them around every now and then to get all crackers good and coated .
they are good just that quick but i like to let mine set a day or two lets the stuff soak in good . and you can also bake in the over after completed bt i never have done that they never last that long .

enjoy,
Scott

This works awesome with oyster crachers.  They don't break up into a bunch of inedible pieces.  It's almost like eating popcorn.

These are awesome! We call them firecrackers! We use multi grain saltines. They seem to be crisper. I also add honey club cracker sticks.

We use the same recipe (+ garlic powder & dill) with broken up pretzels and bake them for an hour at 250. Very addicting!
