Easy Marinade
« on: September 14, 2011, 11:42:00 AM »
Just had  deer steak and eggs for breakfast. Wow, so good! Here's a marinade I've come up with. Works great with all wild meat and super easy. I've used it with steak and kabobs. I use either a plastic freezer bag or a tuperware container epecially designed to marinade meat.

These are the ingredients, the amounts depend on how much meat you are marinading.

Olive oil-enough to coat all sides of the steak.

Whole garlic cloves crushed (I use lots cuz I love garlic) Garlic powder will work.

Pepper-fresh ground works best.

Curry powder-just a sprinkle- don't use too much.

Herbes de Provence-which contains Thyme, fennel, basil, savory, and lavender. I've also seen some that contain salt and sage.

Add everything in the container or bag with the meat and marinade for at least 2 hours but overnight is best.Don't forget to turn the meat occasionally. Sorry I don't have exact amounts but I just kinda go by feel. You'll figure it out.

I heat my grill to about 325 and then do about 2 minutes per side for a 3/4 inch steak for medium. It's pretty easy to overdo venison so keep that in mind when you're grilling.

Try it I think you'll love it. Super simple!
