Tonight we had a meal nearly totally off our farm or from our hunting endeavors. Wife took some very lean ground bear, added some bread soaked in milk as a binder, an made burgers. She slow fried them and potatoes from the garden in bear grease!! She then took some sweet corn from the garden out of the freezer and pan fried it. I added a little mayo on my bun, sliced up fresh avocado and put on the burger, crispy fried potatoes and southern sweet fried corn, with a big dill pickle we canned from the pantry. We bought HB buns and the avocado. Fellers this is as good as elk burger, and I love elk!!! We eat so much good quality, home grown food, that we just don't eat out much anymore. I went to meetings across the state this week for 3 days, mandatory for work. After eating processed/fast or restaurant food for 3 days I felt like I had been poisoned. Sure was good to get back home and get some prime grub!
