Windy day today, for my last day of Vacation. Gusts to 30mph,are not the conditions to be launching arrows at deer. So, Tyler and I are hanging around the house, getting things ready for the "other" Season. He's very excited!! This will be his 1st year going to "Deer Camp"! We will be hunting with my Brother in-law and his 2 brothers. Boys I hung around & hunted with daily years ago. But, we have not all hunted together for over 30 years... Honestly, I'm rather excited myself!!!!! We'll be staying at the cabin, the brothers built up on the mountain. Bunks, woodstove, lanterns, firepit, the whole "Deer Camp" deal!!! So today, I'm making "Camp Soup"!!! (Trust me, the pot will be empty tonight! Tyler has a BIG appetite!!!)
Woodchucker's "Deer Camp" Venison Soup...
1 Big pot
2 pounds of ground Venison
1 can of sliced/diced potatos
1 can of sliced/diced carrots
1 can of whole kernal corn
Put 2 pounds of Venison in the pot and fill about 1/2 full with water. Bring water & Venison to a boil, then reduce heat to medium.Add Salt&Pepper, and allow to slowly boil/simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionaly.
Then, add potatos, carrots, corn, and reduce heat to low. Stir well and cover... Stirring occasionaly, and seasoning as desired, allow to simmer 3-4 hours.
Serve with HomeMade Biscuits...
