Primative gator arrows?
« on: March 23, 2005, 06:48:00 PM »
I know,,I know,,I'm probably getting a little too carried away with the primative stuff but,,,,,

Has anyone ever tried to make a heavy primative bowfishing type arrow for hunting alligators? I have a chance to go hunting these critters and would like to use mostly primative equipment. I know I can build a selfbow that will do the job but I really don't know much about the arrows and lines used to hunt the reptiles. I would like to rig up a heavy bamboo/tonkin cane arrow with a homemade point?

OK,,,stop laughing and give me your opinons, I won't hold a grudge!

I don't know much about it, but i would suggest a 12 gauge or bang stick as an extra precaution.
I saw bambi too, I got over it.

flatstick can you tell me what you would think your hunt setup would be ? I have a buddy lives in fla and he wants to try with his compound bow and I am trying to come up with what weight line, type of arrow head and that bang stick sounds like one of the items as well....
you should see how I use to shoot
