sharpening 2 blade heads?
« on: March 13, 2006, 02:58:00 PM »
i jsut purchases stos 145 two blade heads. i sharpened them with a filet kife diamond steel and a ceramic rod.  the edges  came out shaving all the way to the tip but the tip is not that pointy it starts to round a little to resemble a tanto tip they are still shaving sharp all the way around.  i was wondering if the point becoming a steeper angle would hurt penitration or it would help with strenght, or neither?

if anything it will strengthen the head-i knock the tip back a little on my stos- do a search on "STOS" on powwow and you will see about everyone that uses them takes the tip down........
if your not living on the edge, your taking up too much room!!

Try a Lansky knife sharpener with diamond hones. The knife holder will hold the broadheads and try for a 22 degree cut on the broadheads.

It comes in hand for sharpening knifes too!
Ok, so my first bear was with a bow with cables! It was still over 7'.
