Hi,
Do you have some reccomendations for outfitters/agents in Australia? Might as well be interested in New Zeland.
Thanks.

Bill Baker would be the guy in Australia although he is dealing with soome stuff right now. Alan Kidner was just hunting in NZ and could provide you with info about that hunt and also Australia as he lives there. Joseph

Buffalo and wild boar. If available goats, deer, schrub bulls.

Bushman, I just sent you a pm. The place I go has buffalo, pigs and scrub bulls and you will most likely see all everyday. For the most part you need to travel a ways to get to deer or goats, but it is certainly possible.

Check with Dave Stinson (huntit). He was trying to put together a buffalo/hog combo trip for 2008. Not sure if he has a full group yet or not. I know he is at Comptons for the weekend so won't be on here until after that.

Bill Baker is highly regarded here in Australia for good reason. Check him out at
www.bowhuntsafaris.com
plenty of Tradgangers have hunted with him.
Also worth a look is Mick Baker at
www.trophybowhunts.com.au
He shoots a recurve and is becoming a popular outfitter aswell.
Cheers,

I have hunted with Andrew Mackay three times now and taken two big Buffalo bulls. I don't even know how many pigs I have taken, since I don't keep a diary.
Fishing with fly rod for Barramundi is superb, with the chance to take some really big ones. You can fish the river and still be hunting at the same time.
I have never seen bird life like there is there, either.
Andrew is one of two men on this planet whom I know that I would completely trust backing me up on Buffalo! He is a phenominal guide and one of the funniest guys I have met in years.
His email address is
[email protected]
I will be going back with him again!

I just came back from a succesful buffalo hunt near Darwin guided by Andrew (the same person Too Short is talking about) and it was a great place to go.
I shot an big old bull and had several encounters before doing that. I totally agree on Too Shorts description of Andrew.

I hunted with Andrew last year and killed a big bull. I completly agree with Torben and Too Short. He is the best guild (of any kind) I have ever had the pleasure of hunting with. He goes non stop to make sure you have a great experience.

Rick,
This will be my very first trip to Australia so all information is highly appreceiated. The hunt will likely be in the middle of July. I will try to add a couple of days before and after the hunt to do som sightseeing as well.

Jan I would. I like Darwin and there is quite a bit more not far away. Crocidilus park, Kakadu park, wildlife park, fishing, souvenir shopping. July is a good time to go, you'll see lots of buffalo and the weather will be at its coolest.

But if you want to get the whole "Fred Bear" experience, and hunt water buffalo like he did in Brazil, come in January! (I'm kidding!)
