I think it is out of print but I could be mistaken.  Maybe someone in Oz will be able to help.  I read while I was in Oz hunting with Bill, I wish I would have gotten one then.  Joseph

I just looked up an add from a couple of years ago in Bowhunting Downunder Magazine.

"To order your copy of Bill Baker's 'Born to the Bow' simply send your postal address and $30 cheque or money order made out to James Baker, 6/17 Scott Street, Redhill, Qld. 4059."

James is Bill's son, and my guess is that he'd be pleased to send a copy of his Dad's book. The price is in Aussie Dollars, and included shipping within Australia, so you might want to add on a bit more to cover postage to the USA. And, be sure to write "Queensland 4059 Australia" instead of just "Qld. 4059" when mailing international.

The book is a good read.

Cheers, Ben

Ben do you have a phone number that I could reach him on? I don't want to send a money order if no one lives there anymore. If not I will just send a letter. Thanks, Chris.

I don't have a phone number. But you could try to find one at  www.whitepages.com.au  . And if you do call, remember to check the time-zone difference out!

Hate to say it, but now that Bill is dead, the book may be out of circulation.  He gave me two last year, and I gave one to my son to read.  These were off of his shelf.  His words in my book are "GREAT MEMORIES, FUN AND ADVENTURE WITH YOU IDAHO MATE, IN THE LAND OF OZ.  LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE, Billy Baker. (signed)  Still have a letdown when I think of him being gone.
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

Hi Guys,

I just got a note from Linda Baker. Her son James is now distributing Bill's books. You can reach him at the e-mail address below:

[email protected]

P.S. If you like adventure on the wild side, you'll defintely enjoy this book. As Bill would have said after yet another yet hair-raising encounter "Holy Dooley Mate!"

It would be wonderful if perhaps the book could be distributed in the US by someone here on this website.

In the process of working up a tributary profile on Bill , the same thoughts have occurred to me. I will write Linda and James about shipping over stock which I would be happy to distribute with all proceeds going back to the family. If that works out, I will post it here. Don
