I wouldn't mind that hunt so long as I had an M-60 machine gun and unlimited tags.  Once the shooting begins it might just get a bit hairy!  That is a whole lot of bear tonnage on that beach.

I wonder if Timothy Treadwell (Grizzly Diaries) would have tried living in the middle of them?

When I hunt blacktails on Kodiak we stay on a boat. If your in a tent, you get the pleasure of bad weather and brown bear issues during the long nights.

Now I know what to do if I ever go to kodiak hunting, shoot a whale and beach it, then camp safely on the other side of the island without a bear in sight!

Great Idea!

We get some large seasonal congregations of bears here.
Other times of the year they are off foraging on veg. and berries.

The large salmon runs and whale beachings are a sight.

Amazing picture. Probably not to many fights with that much whale spread out all over. Just growl and keep on eating.

Deal me in. I will be booking a Kodak bear hunt for 2013. Anyone want to go ? Its hard to find a hunting partner that really wants to hunt and get out in the wild. I am going for cape with my longbow and no one wants to even do that.
Buff at 15 yards and death looking at you with a stick in your hand. Sounds like adventure.

What a picture. Hard to believe that many bears at one time in one place.
