water buff pics.
« on: October 23, 2009, 11:19:00 PM »
here's some pics of a mob of buffulo that were feeding on the side of the road on our drive into Nhulunbuy from Katherine a few months ago. i just pulled over, grabbed the slr camera with 200mm lens and walked up to them. they weren't the least bit worried. one young one walked up to me to about 5m at which point i thought i had better back out!

Good one Clint!
shikari! buff horn is a wonderful medium and polishes to a gloss. Incredibly strong and flexible. If u were to go back to a dead beast say a week or so from demise (especially the time of year Clint nadded this un it's pretty warm) can just bang around the base of the horn with a heavy stick and they pop right off the pith! Mind u if u'r not used to the pong its pretty gaggable. The fat end can then be soaked in diesel to keep em from drying for another week to avoid splitting/drying where it's thinnest
