A long time ago, I saw a video of a man bowhunting lion in Africa, and I'd like to find it again or the story behind it, where to look, etc.
I saw it on TV, and if I had to guess, the hunt must have taken place in the 1960's, but I am not sure.
On the video, several men pull up in an open jeep or rover to a fallen tree. On one of the limbs there is a lion (I think it was lioness) sitting about head high. The lion is growling at the men. Then, the hunter draws back and shoots the lion, using a recurve or a longbow - I don't remember - which apparently just pisses it off, because it comes off it's perch and charges and mauls the cameraman - end of clip.
Seems like I remember the men narrating like it was shot for TV or something, but it was pretty wild. I don't remember any details about it, and I would like to know where it came from, etc.
Has anyone else seen this film clip or know anything about it?
