January Sport Shows?
« on: November 28, 2010, 12:31:00 PM »
We're looking for Trad Gang advice to help us out this spring. We've been alloted some new area to run our bear hunts and have some openings now for this spring's bear hunt. The three sport shows we're booked into for this winter are in March and are kinda close to May/June to give guests time to arrange plans to hunt with us.
Can you give us a couple ideas of well attended sport shows in January, that would help us find some bear hunters for the spring?
Any advice appreciated.

SCI Int'l. and SCI Dallas are two weeks apart starting in mid-late January.  FNAWS usually runs between those two.

There's also the Harrisburg, PA show....one of the biggest.  Usually around the first of Feb.

Beartrack Look into the "All Canada shows" we do the St Louis and Chicago shows. These are smaller shows but very well attended and 80% of the attendees will visit Canada in the next 2 years. Harrisburg is a long tough show.

The Portland, Oregon Sportmans Show is the second weekend in February.  It is well attended.  If you come look me up at the Archery World booth.  I help a buddy out there every year.

Ragnarok, probably saw you there. We had a booth over in the fishing/hunting hall. You are right it is well attended but most outfitters I talked with last year were having a real tough time there. Some got stuck in the boat hall and were pretty choked. For us it was the largest show we did last year in terms of attendees, and it was the first one we cut out of this years schedule. It was no fault of the organizers the economy there is just not as good as other areas.
