(another) very strange pic-best guess
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:59:00 PM »
OK, I read Littlefeather's thread regarding the strange pic on his trail camera...and then remembered I had a similar image on mine.

Here's the pic showing the date/time with that shiny object appearing to be on a tree.  By the way, I captured 76 images in two weeks and only had two pics with the shiny object showing.

The next pic is two nites later...and the object does not appear.

It's another trail camera on a different tree. If I get a chance later I'll post the enhanced pic. I believe when you see the flash is when an animal is close enough to both to set that one off also.

Nope, not another camera I'm sure. I was in a remote area with no other hunters and checked my camera daily at mid-morning.  I also have daytime photos and they show "nothing" in that area.

my guess would be a lens flare from the doe's eye reflection.

The pics are rather small so you need to enlarge some. Sure looks like a camera on a tree. A higher res pic would help.

It's the same Chupacabra as the one stalking Curtis. Be very, very afraid.

Sorry to highjack your thread, but didn't want to start another one.  I can't figure out what this pic is.  Any guesses?...Mike

Vermonster, I have several daytime photos of the same trees, etc. (and lots of other night ones too).  My partner and I checked out the area of the object and could find nothing.

I'm just telling you what it looks like when I blow it up on my puter. Doesn't look like it's still there in the second pic, but hard to tell because it is so much darker there then.

The ground in front of the image doesn't appear to be lit up with any flash.  Is it a film camera or digital?  Could it be something inside the camera causing a defect on the film as it advances sometimes?

those white specs are likely bugs.

We took a photo of Bubba on a caribou hunt. It had a ton of those little white specs.   Took us a bit to figure it out, which is odd as it was hard to forget the amount of skeeters hanging around that bou!  That would be what I'd say it is, likely a mosquito, fly, or some other bug.    It appears identical to ours that were taken on regular film.

Mooseman:

Yours was a little more difficult but I zoomed in and cleaned it up as best I could.  Must be a friend of yours or something.
