Thanx all!
The monkey I spoke of is being surrounded by minibucks all year, either not legal or sumpin that looked to be promising for another year. Been wantin to shoot a doe for some time, this was the third opp this year. First 2 sensed my presence and were fairly spooky, this one wasn't  spooked but still almost ducked the arra, damn theyre FAST!! Guess after gun I'll have to get em under 10 yds,she was at 15 today........(dang TX deer,I guess)
Was right on the edge of the bedding/swamp area,I heard him go thru before daylite, breakin sticks and prettty much soundin like a hereford bull goin thru the brush! Can't get any closer to the bed,so may have to catch him in the 2nd rut or hope for cold weather. Saw a bobcat scamper thru just at first lite, then at 7:00 a doe came thru at 10 yds, looked me over really well and I let her pass,2 minutes later this one came thru,I stood and a knobby on my rubber boot made a small "ping" on the stand. She looked at me thru the limbs, then looked at the other doe 50 yds on past and on she came. At the shot she ducked and it took her high and back,I wanted to pitch my bow out of the stand, but only one to blame here. She went 50 yds and bedded so I backed out and gave her time, then did the necessary things and took her to the locker.I usually process my own,but a lil busy this weekend, just took her to town.   :)      :wavey:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Congrats Kenny! I've had a hard time try'n to get one of them older slick heads myself. I did take one of them lunch box size does earlier and have not seen near the action out of the bigger bucks this year. But there is always a chance, I love the late season hunting anyway. Congrats again Kenny, that ol'monkey don't belong in Missoura anyhow !

Good Stuff ! A mature doe is a real trophy especially during gun season.
