« on: August 14, 2006, 05:50:00 PM »
nice story with this bow, serial # 15j139 45# 52" kodiak magnum..need any info i can find on it,was the bow my brother in law used when i learned to bowhunt with..it has been hunted with but never has taken a deer.we have been out of touch for many years,i asked him about the bow and he dug it out of his adic for me,he says its mine if i can harvest at least one deer with it..i have been shooting it sparingly..was trying to find out if this is one that can be used daily..it was magic when i shot that first arrow...

Sound like somewhere between a 61 and 64 serial number, but I'm not that great with the numbers. What color is the fiberglass? Also, what does the overlay on the front of the riser look like, assuming it has one? Are the limb tips small and pointed? What is the riser wood like? A picture would help a lot. Sounds like a great find! CKruse

it appears that your magnum is a 1962 model.

OK, I know this thread was from 2006... but I'm dying to know if he ever ended up taking a deer with the bow and or he got to keep it???  PM sent.

When he said "green", I was thinking '61 and not a '62.....and then I see also it's a post from '06.   :scared:

OMG...that's going on 9 years.    :D

And did he get his deer?   :dunno:

Hit or Miss has been trolling in the archives.  Lots of good stuff there and it seems to me that this forum was alot more active several years ago.

Makes me wonder at times how many of the old timers have passed away.

Great news! Swamp fox responded...alive... and yes... he still has the bow and ended up taking several deer with it. He is hoping his grandson will hunt with it as well.     I love happy endings!  :)

I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6
