Help identifying Early Kodiak Special
« on: December 05, 2006, 06:41:00 AM »
I'm guessing 55 or 56, due to the leather handle, lack of coin, and silkscreening, it also has a handle insert for accessories?

Original leather wrap, for some reason it had tape on it.

Top limb near the knock has some finish issues, which I don't believe go down to the glass.  Almost feels like little pimples raised up, and are fairly soft.

Thanks for any help.

If it has the silkscreen type logo, it's a 1956. If it has the old decals that sit on top of the finish, it's a 1955. You were right on with your estimation. CKruse

The insert is for an early bow quiver. Forgot to add that. CKruse

Thanks CKruse.  Now I'll have to decide whether to refinish it myself or send it out.
