Bear Achery Catalog
« on: April 29, 2007, 10:39:00 AM »
I just acquired a like new 1970 Bear Archery catalog and noticed something interesting....at least to me.  I've read where one cannot depend on the catalogs to date and identify years of manufacture by the combinations of riser woods beacause the factory often used the previous years bows.  ie..if a new bow wasn't ready for production and available for photography at the time of catalog publication, they would often use a previous years bow.
Not for 1970.  All of the bows pictured in the 1970 catalog are serial numbered 1970.  So, unless
some "photo magic" was applied, the wood combinations for that year should be a reliable source for that years production.
