New Toy.. JK Traditions Kanati
« on: December 01, 2007, 01:52:00 PM »
Received a new toy in the mail yesterday.  I had Jason Kendall build a Kanati for me.  A 60 incher, 50# @ 29 inches.  Bamboo limbs and grey actionwood riser.  I've had other  deflex/reflex style longbows but they were all "twitchy" and somewhat finicky for me when trying to shoot them.  Not this one.  This little longbow is as stable as can be and it flat smokes an arrow.  I'm going to go out on a limb here.....it may be as fast or faster than my BW SA recurves at an equal weight and shooting the same arrow.  What an amazing bow you've built here Jason.  Thank you very much!!

Here's a few pics.

Folks...for what little Jason charges for this bow, $455, it's the archery bargain of the century.

Very nice indeed. Hows the grip and the rubber sleeve feel?<><

Stickshooter

I asked for some additional "heel" on the grip.  I think his std bow has a bit less heel on it.  It came with the rubber sleeve off it.  I shot it a bit and decided to put the sleeve on.  It gives me a more positive grip for sure.

Here's an unstrung profile.

I have one on order, about the same weight, but 58". I only draw 28" and I'm not very tall. Jason's bows are so smooth, they don't need to be long.

Great looking bow! I can't wait for mine to be done.

I've got a Kobekona River thats 53 at 28" 62" that is a sweet shooting very fast bow. Getting ready to order a 56 or 58 inch Kanati. My Kobekona is that same color. Jason makes a great bow.
Did it take the full 16 weeks after You ordered it?

I just picked one up from a fellow member.  I could not be happier with a bow.  It possesses everything a hunting bow should:  silence, accuracy, speed.

Thanks,

Great looking bow. The grip looks like it would fit like a glove.

Hey guys-if you do not want to wait on an order.  My local shop, Bearfoot Traditions in Des Moines, Ia had a new 50#@28" Kanati on the shelf waiting.  Great bow.

These bows are some serious shooters.  I think you will be really happy with this bow!!

Negative on the handshock.  There is none.  And prior to this bow, I've shot pretty much nothing except SA series Black Widows that weigh 3 times as much as this bow.  So if there was any handshock, I'd be sensitive to it.
