Original Schafer riser, help needed...

Tonight I got my Schafer takedown out to build it a new string, I had happened to glance down at the riser and caught a glare from the over head light.  I also saw something else that wasn't very appealing.  It looks there are a few checks running down the outside of the riser.  The longest one looks to run from above the signature, all the way down to the saddle of the grip.  There looks to be three total, one long and two smaller and they all seem to parallel each other.  I took as many pictures as I could hoping that someone might give me some good news.  I never noticed it before, and I don't shoot it very often, but when I did it shot very well.  I looked at the front of the riser, and the check does not go into the window, or the front.  I'm hoping that since it is a laminated riser that the check is contained in just one lamination and won't affect the structural integrity.  They are very hard to spot without the right angle of light.  I can run my finger nail over them and feel them slightly.

Hi Tim those look like expansition cracks to me.Not good,but should not affect the shooting of the bow.But at some point you may want to run a little super glue in them,just to kinda keep the moisture out to prevent them from getting any worse...bowdoc

Thanks doc, I was thinking the same thing.  I strung the bow with the new string and drew it back (14-16 inches) while looking at the cracks and I didn't see them open anymore than they are.
What glue would you recommend? Loctite super glue, or CA? I'm sure it would need to be thin to get into such a tight area.  Thanks, Tim.

Loc tite 420 is probley one of the better,little expensive,but real good..Grainger somewhere between 15-25 bucks...If at all possible you may want to go to the local drug store and purchase a syringe.Then draw the LT into the syringe.It will give much better contol and would go all over the place...bowdoc

Thanks guys. I'll take your advice and procure myself some glue and a syringe to patch this baby up.  Tim
