Hey Guys

Just thought I'd say,This place ROCKS.

I know we can have our difference's and disagreements, but the tone here is the best of any internet forum on archery bar none.
I don't know if we fly under the radar or just don't argue enough over gap vs instinctive,but hope it never changes.

I think it has a lot to do w/ how the old timers interact w/ the new guys,kinda set's the tone.

It also has to do with the premis that Terry Green has set up for Trad Gang.

"Expect to be respected".  Terry does not tolerate dischord to a point that it gets out of hand.  Some members have lost their right to be here for violating that premise.  Some started another forum called "Outdoor to the Core" where anything goes.  It is now defunct.  To much Pi**ing and moaning to a point that it really got out of hand.  That is what the moderators are for on this Forum.  If they see anything inappropriate, they just kill it.  Certain topics have been attempted that the forum does not allow, next thing it is gone.

Every post you make is monotored by the moderators.  It is a full time thankless job that goes unnoticed, until you mess up and post something you shouldn't.  Your post will be gone, and you will get a PM explaining why.
They are not perfect, but they are doing a great job keeping this a great place to be.

So, a toast to the unseen, unthanked, and under appreciated Moderators;  Terry Green, Charlie Lamb, joel smith, JC, Dsturgisjr, Doug Campbell, cjones, Guru, Littlefeather, rabbitman, Bob Walker, & Iron Bull.

May you continue to keep is in line.

Hmmm,about the notification part, not so sure about that,somebody around here had to eat some crow a little bit ago,because it seemed to get past our little slice o heaven,the apology was posted in pow wow and it was gone, kinda always wondered why?

I remember that.  As I recall, everyone commended him for the appology, and also the guy he bashed for the way he handled his end.

I did not know it was pulled.

I made a simple typo on a thread and it came out sounding like a really crude statement.  I had made a commet that "When Fred Bear took a shot", but I accidently it the  "i" instead of the "o" in the last word.  Obviously that "needed" to be edited.

 I received an e-mail from a moderator explaining that he had editied it to what I obviously meant, and explained why.   I went back to the thread to check it out, and the whole thread was gone.  It was about a controversial topic that Tradgang does not want to see folks get their curiosity up and try it.  I can live with that.  I had not started the thread, but I had knowledge of the subject to share.  Certain subjects should be steered clear of, and good common sense is all you need to identify them.

Or perhaps it is because anyone that violates the spirit of the forum, to a degree that warrants it, is no longer with us.  That tends to keep the ranks clean.


Our benevolent benefactors can go to some extreme measures to protect us and keep this forum healthy.  They have before, and they will in the future.  That's why it is still a great place to be.

You Guy's both nailed it,
The respect for the forum.
I lean towards self policing.
I think the Moderators do a great job,no arguments.
I wasn't grand standing posting in pow wow,but people I had never heard of, or seen post before, were weighing in.
I'm happy, I can play in the sand box.

Oh that's right.  "YOU" were the basher.  I had forgotten that.  Well, I think you made a post not knowing all the facts.  We all do it some time.  The way you handled it was great, although it could have been kept in the thread that it started in.  In any case, everybody kissed and made up and all is right with the world.

Now, if you had done that same thing on the "core", you would have been verbally lynched by all the other guys friends, with no sanction, and no reprieve.  That is what makes Trad Gang different.  You make a mistake, your correct it , and life goes on.

Good for you, and the bashee, who I don't recall, or what it was about.  It says a lot that the only thing I can recall about the situation is the classy way you both handled it.  KQQL
