I couldn't help but be reminded of the SNL skit of the guy sitting in the bar talking about a local legend by the name of Bill Brasky!

I can hear it now. That Von J.Johnson was a stout sumb*tch! I once saw him kill 3 mule deer with one arrow from his 97# Kodiak Bow! Here's to Von J.Johnson! Glasses raised.

I remember when this one was on E8bay. My groin muscles and family jewels thank God daily that I was not high bidder! CKruse

I'm not asking if he's going to sell it. I figure he never will unless... If he injures himself with it I just want to be first in line. I know banks won't lend for motorcycles older than '95, I wonder what the cutoff is for bows! ;0

Well it'll be an awful lot of work on all sides to make it happen, but if you get it to me I'll take that bet. not only to string it, but I'll even try the shuttle  :D  That's how much I'd just like to get my hands on this thing!

I wonder if it cost twice as much as a normal weight bow....It looks like it took about twice as much material to make it  ;)

I'd love to watch someone shoot that Monster....String it up and make us a video Jeff.

I agree with Cam, I bet Von Johnson was a stout MOFO

In case you were wondering about my earlier reference, enjoy! This is about "R" rated so don't click on it if you'd be offended. SNL clip

I bought that bow off the auction site for $595. I have been offered $1000, but passed.

The lady that sold it was in Colorado. She sold it for the Johnson family. She was a really nice person, we still stay in touch. The owner Von Johnson, was very ill at the time and has since passed on. They say ole Von was a huge man with broad shoulders and a small waist. He hunted in Alaska and Colorado. I aso bought his double shelf 55 Kodiak, 83# which I sold.

Here's to you Von Johnson, you are more of a man than I'll ever be.
