Back in the early 80's I purchased a 62" Stemmler recurve. It was called the "Len Cardinale Signature Bow". The only Stemmler I have owned.
The unique thing about this bow and my reason for buying was it has an adjustable draw weight. Well, I couldn't let this idea pass without having one to play with.
It is a takedown with adjustable limbs. The limbs have normal mounting bolts, but also have a pivot spindle at the top and bottom of the riser. By adjusting the tension on the bolts the limbs will pivot on the riser, changing the tiller and allowing for a change in draw weight. On this bow it will adjust from 55# to 70#.
Sounds odd; but it really does work!
Does anyone know if there were many of these produced? I'm not really looking to sell, but would like to acquire another. Either heavier or lighter. Riser always sort of reminded me of a 2x4 but it actually is a smooth shooter.
Have been looking for quite some time now but have never seen another one like it for sale. Not even on the biggie auction site.
Thanks for any help!
