Dating a Grizzly Bear
« on: November 03, 2008, 04:12:00 PM »
I am just getting back in to bows again and had this forum recommended to me.
I recently picked up a Bear Grizzly, AMO 56" AND 45# at 28".
The question here is can anyone tell me the age of the bow? The serial number is GR19865.
I have another question about brace height but didn't think it appropriate here so posted it on the shooters forum.
Thanks for any help.
It was moved to Pow Wow board.

I though all Grayling '70 bows started with a "K".

I think a picture will be needed.

Bill, if you are wrong, don't beat yourself up...that's how we learn.

For me... it's gotta have a flat coin.

From what I have seen the Gainesville bows start with letters that are similar to the brand.
Grizzly: GR, The Super Kodiak I have is SK-386.

Bill, you need not apoligize or be hard on yourself. You have come a long way since I first saw your Migra Bill handle a year ago. You have also collected a excellent bunch of Bears in that short time.
                         Thanx, Shep

Flat coin would make it a Grayling bow.

So I would say 1970...So I learned something today...Not all '70's start with a "K"

You guys finally picked up on my "dating' thing. LOL!
Sorry!  Stupid of me but I messed up on the serial number. It's a "9" not a "g" on the first digit.
Here are the photos(courtesy of my wife).
