Thats a cool old 101# HH the guy has for sale this morning huh? I would ask if your going to take a minute and look at the bow.Take a minute and please read the description.I was just wondering who in the heck is the bow pro he called and they told him his bow was worth 750.00-1,000.00 regardless of condition.....Man I want that bow pro's name and number.I have a sh%# load of broken bows I need appraised by that person.I have a mint condition 1962 Bear Kodiak and the bow was only shot 3-4 times.No joke 3-4 arrows max.The original owner told me so.In 1962 the guy did not have a bow stringer,so guess what ? yap your right.The bottom limb(missed one string noc).But what the hell man she's premo.I was thinking if that busted HH is worth 750.00-1,000.00..........maybe 2,600.00 on a mint condition only shot 3 times 1962 Kodiak..........bowdoc

Lon and Don- I thought about the listing of this bow and the info given since this thread was first posted and started to wonder if the person who was called knew that Hill's signature was of the logo variety as opposed to the personalized type. Wasn't Pearson building these bows around this time? Do you think this listing is really a scam or just the result of a certain amount of ignorance mixed with an equal part of misinformation? Not that it really matters.... Grant

That HH would be a great collecter,but not at that price.I actually do not think that bow is worth 1,000.00 even if it were not broken...bowdoc

He re-listed this bow and eventually sold it for $300.

Yes I saw when it came back up for 400.00 and then got relisted again at 300.I would still like to know who appraised that bow for 1,000.00.bowdoc

Yes I bet the seller had something to say to the appraiser after the sale ahh ? Oh yeah did I forget to mention the appraiser charged that dude 65.00 to app.that broken HH bow.Rich we are in the wrong business my brother,we could be bull shrimping these guy's over the phone for 65 bucks a pop.Send me a pic of your broken bows along with a money order for 65 bucks....hell yeah were do I sign up.......bowdoc

You know the stinger on that one is, that probably was not Howard's signature on the bow. During that period of time, according to Bob Stotler, Howard taught Wayne Stotler to forge his signature, and Wayne signed most of the bows. Bob said Wayne was so good even Howard was fooled.

Bob I actually thought it was a Tim bow from his time with them.Tim signed the bows for HH as well did'nt he ?? bd

Everyone that made Bows for Hill signed them with Howards signature, but the 1960's was too early for Tim or Kramer. Except for those early years, mid 40's to the 60's Howard signed them, until the Stotler/Darling time frame then Wayne began to sign them, eventually it was Ted Ekin, them Meigs and Kramer and now Craig.

That would make more since Bob.I recently saw a recurve bow built by had to have been Darling or a fromer emp.of HH archery that recurve was signed Howard Hill.It sure did not look like any early real Howard Hill signuture I ever saw.I often wonderd who the heck signed all the recurves with HH's name ??? I will look for the pic with Darling holding the recurve.bowdoc
