Custom Order Serial Numbers
« on: November 24, 2008, 09:47:00 PM »
Would bows that were custom ordered have different serial numbers than production bows? Specifically the years '65 - '69?? In other words would they break the rule that the first digit in the serial number indicates the year of manufacture?

Thanks

Frank

not that I have ever heard of, but there are always transitional periods in the manufacturing process, so you never know. What do you have?
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Most of the time the numbers were the same as always. But on bow orders from the real custom shop at the factory said Bear Archery Custom Shop on the bows. But I would also like to mention Bear made bows for other companys like Sear Monkey Wards Viking Archery in Texas and god only knows who else.So they could have been a custom order through ie Sears whoever.bd

The reason I am asking is, I was looking at what appears to be a '67 Kodiak Magnum i.e., Green Glass, Curved Accent Stripe, but the serial number begins with KU not "7" the weight is 63#
