'56 ? ....'55 - arrived and a winner
« on: December 26, 2008, 08:39:00 AM »
330295575854   Found this one hiding in the corners of fleabay and ending in the middle of the night. Woke up to find that it was headed my way cheap. Good length and hunting weigh. Am I right that the decal makes it a 1956 ?

Looks like a 55 Kodiak Special Shaun.  A 55 Kodiak would have been a double shelf.  Nice find!!!!

Yep, 1955 Kodiak Special, at a pretty good draw weight too. You got a good deal on it. shoot straight!
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

This bow arrived while I was hunting in Texas. When you buy from the auction its a roll of the dice, sometimes you get hosed, sometimes you get lucky.

This bow was better than expected. Only damage I can find is a delaminated area of belly glass at the upper tip next to the string groove.

I put the bd fix on it and can't wait to shoot it after 24 hours drying time and some clean up.

Now the good news. It has the original finish with two of the three decals in place.

Missing one

What appears to be the original 20 strand string

With some owner installed serving over wraps - maybe for shooting bare fingered

And nice clear handwriting at the handle

The special surprise was some nice "birds eye" spots on the other side of the riser.

I feel lucky to have found this one and will let you know how it shoots when I get there.
