Bear Archery Stand

Anyone have one of those stands Bear Archery sold in the 70's?

If it is the one that used to roll up the tree,with the swinging,Tarzan rope ladder,I used to have one and actually killed deer out of it.That was a crazy thing to get up the tree and climbing up the rope ladder was a feat too but when attached to the tree,it was as rigid as a concrete slab.If I remember,it weighed about 14 lbs..I would hate to have to climb that swinging rope ladder these days.I am very happy to have survived some of the tree stand stuff we did in those days.

That's it.  I never had the opportunity to try one, but it sure looked like a man-killer to me.   :)   You a brave man.

I'm not sure brave is the right word.Like I say,it was a solid treestand but like many then,had no seat.I didn't care.I was there to hunt.If you had used some of today's better methods of climbing and a good safety harness,it wouldn't have been too bad(if you didn't mind standing).We have come along way.Not all the old ways were the best.
