58 Kodiaks
« on: February 01, 2009, 09:16:00 PM »
I just got my Christmas presents Friday. Two 58 Kodiaks. One is 55# and a little on the rough side but still a good shooter. The other, 45# in great condition, beautiful finish, one stress crack, excellent leather, considering a rat chewed the corner of the box, original Micro-flite #7,four fletch arrows and bolt on quiver. All the prices written on the arrow box; bow $40, quiver $7, and arrows $20. Can anybody tell me what the brace height is on this bow. The 45 is 60" and shoots like a dream. The 55 is 64" and makes a lot of noise.Pictures are coming, I sent them to Mechlesher, Chris Cade, he said he would post them along with the Zebrawood 64 Grizzly I just got, with not a scratch on it.

60" bow brace at 7 1/4-7 1/2.
64" bow brace at 7 3/4-8"
Both of these bows can be made to be amazingly quiet. Proper brace, nock placement and arrow spine and arrow weight all play a role.
Have fun!

Thanks for the braceheights. Now does anybody know what the original leather strike plates looked like and the arrow rest. Both of them have different styles and I don't know what is original.

Brian, I sent them to Chris Cade. He said he would post them. That 45#Kodiak is going after a hog next week when Brian Melton gets here.
