coin removal

what is the best way to remove the bear medallion on both old and newer bears? im refinishing a k-mag and "modifying" a montana:)

old bows coins with a little tiny bit of heat and stick hot melt.Get the coin warm with the head of a bolt not super hot just warm maybe 3-5 minutes.Remove bolt and stand a stick of hot melt up on the coin.Let it cool pull coin out.Heat coin a little until slips off hot melt onto paper towel remove excess hot melt.And the button type with two butter knives.Slowly working them under from each edge and then kind of wiggleing the button out.The newest bows may have a flat plastic coin and you would have to masking tape that one off rather then heat removel.I posted a thread called tip of the day about coin removel with pics but I have no idea how to look up old threads myself.bd
