I picked up a 69 Super K on Clist.Nice 64'' phenolic riser. It's got some glue on the handle like where an arrow holder was.Tried GOO- GONE,OOPS,Denatured Alcohol, did'nt touch it .I even froze it,that took some off.My question is if I sand it to remove it howdo I go about the refinish? Is the riser black all the way through or woll I have to recolor it? What do I use for a finish?

If you have to sand it off you may want to do the whole riser. The black color is completely through the riser. There should not be any color change other then when you add new finish it will get a little darker in color.Birchwood & Casey gun stock tru oil is one of the better finishes...bowdoc

OR, just put on another arrow holder and cover up the blotch.
