Old Bear archery memorabilia
« on: May 07, 2009, 06:13:00 PM »
Just picked these arrows up.They were purchased ar Bear archery plant in Grayling at the big sale just before the move to Gainsville. The Bear-matic steel plate looks like maybe it went on a machine at the Bear plant. If anyone has pictures of the machinery at the Bear plant & can ID this Bear-matic plate I would appreciate it.It looks like maybe push buttons went in the larger holes to operate machinery.

Red dog I have no idea what it is.I thought it may be a plate for a pushbutton system on one of Bears machines.

Rick,   I have some pictures of workers on different machines when Bear went to Grayling and I believe there from an early time frame then the one you have a cover plate for. It would be nice to see if someone else has some pictures from 1956 and later , Bear Matic rings a bell...but not a loud one.

Thanks for the post....    :archer:

Maybe it's a control panel from the Razorhead press? How cool would that be?   :saywhat:  CKruse

I'm with Cam.. It looks like a control panel that was once loaded with push buttons or light.. Now if we just new what for,

Rick I think it is a push button plate for a arrowmatic target return machine. From back in the day when there was a lot of indoor target ranges. Arrowmatic was from Wisconsin and made machines for indor target type systems. I would have guessed that Bear had some systems with there name on them for sale to the Pro shops.I worked in a Bear service center as a kid and we had a number of things with Bear Archery on them in the shop.

OK,I haven't heard of arrowmatic arrow return system.I'm guessing that this came out of a archery range rather than Bear archery from Grayling.By any chance would you have a Picture of one of these systems.Do you now if the Company still exists.Thanks....
