Compton June 19-21
« on: June 03, 2009, 10:35:00 AM »
How many Trad Gang collectors are heading to Compton the 19-21 of this month?

Several of us will be with the ABCC broadhead displays in the room adjoining the the dinning hall.

There will be many other great old collectible archery items on display in addition to the broadheads.

Hope to see everyone there.

Doc - I was kind of afraid that the bear hunting might fall during the Compton dates. A guy just can't do everything. Good luck with the hunting.

Grant - Will let you know if some dimpled heavy weight #1 limbs show up.

Harold & Ray - Looking forward to meeting you guys. Anything you are looking for in particular that I might be able to bring along?

Just look for the fat old guy with tri-focals who is about 70 pounds heavier and 30 years older than this photograph...

Harold - The fish I caught with that minnow was so big that we never got a photograph of it as we couldn't find a camera with a wide enough lens.

Sorry to report that I gave up all the mag risers and accessories a few years ago. Doc might be your best bet to have an extra one.

Cody - It took two hands to hold that slippery rascal up long enough for my buddy to get a snapshot. Do I have to scan another photograph of one with a bow?

Cody - The limit on Paddlefish now is 1 per year by special permit which is a drawing...

Years ago the limit was 2 per day and 4 in possession. For many years we shot them with the bow during the summer season and snagged them during the winter season. In the summer we went on 2 day trips and nearly always shot our limit after two very long hard days in the sun. Great fun and great eating fish, about 25% of their weight is delicious white meat.

I probably should have posted this photograph earlier as nobody could possibly recognize me from this one.

I shot this paddlefish and dozens of others with my old 55# Kodiak Magnum (self-camo), which you can see in the boat with my partners's bow, a rod and reel and some other gear.

Note the end of the paddle on this fish was broken off, probably by a boat propeller. Not a good photograph by today's politically correct standards, but you can see the bow... You can also see the arrow hole about 1/3 of its length up from the bottom.

Wade.....I'll be there with the displays.....would like to get a count on how many members with a count on displays they are coming with so I can make sure we have table's for all. I know this is a last minute deal but if they have table skirts that would be nice to make the room and displays look better. I just use roll of camo fleece that works good.

So any ABCC members that see this please let me know how many table's you might need. I wish I would have done this the last newsletter. I can bring two tables but my displays stand alone and need 13'x 2' floor space
I don’t want to sound like the boss but I would like the image of our club to be high in everyone’s eyes.  I would like to keep all the trader tables that don’t have displays on them to the back of the room so that it keeps the room looking neat for all viewers. That’s where I’ll have mine but if you have a cover on your table and want to put them under that, like with arrow boxes etc.
Remember space is laid out as to what kind of Broadhead you hand me when you arrive and any violations will cost you one head from your display that I pick. …………………..just kidding……….had to say that…..but
Remember to bring a comfortable chair and I’m looking forward to talking with all, please stop by.
Wade you should bring your bow fishing rig and you can hit the river that the club sits on. Huge Cat’s

When you see these displays you found JJ and me.

great pics Wade. tasty fish and caviar. In AR a legal length female has about $150 worth of roe. Unfortunatly they are doing well as a species due to channelization and dam construction.

I wish I could make it to the compton shoot. maybe next year
