Ok guys to day was a great day... about 3:30 this noon I called Wade to talk about about Bows and arrows like I do most of the time.. Well Wade got me thinking about the bows forms I picked up from a man who lived down the road from me.. Well some thing told me to go see him today.. So I didn't have any thing planed so I like what the heck.... So I got to Mr.Bulters house and showed him a bow I picked up in jan at the Kzoo trad bow show.. I told him two weeks after I picked it up but I been in college so I ahve had no time to go see him..When I showed the bow to him that I got.. He was like where did you get it ??.. I told him I picked it up about 50milles away from where we lived he like I dont know who I would have sold a bow to that lived that far away... He like well I wonder how many hands have had it.. Well I now own two of his bows He only made five bows in all he has the other three which He told me I can have if he two sons don't want them.. As he would not like to see them throwin away... Well So today I went and took pics of his three bows that he has so when I glue up bows on the forms he gave me I can have some Ideal of how to make them look...
The first pic here is off the three bows( I will get pics of the two I have later)
The top bow is a target bow he made in 1956 this 30 pounds at 28.. This bow was made for this wife who shot target archery.. made with brown bear glass.
The middle bow is what he called a Target/hunting bow he made for hime self. It's 45 pounds @28 this bow is made with green bear glass made in the late 1950s.. one the side of the riser he added green glass for looks which make the bow look cool.. I like this bow very much but not as much as the bottom bow..
Ok the bottom bow is 50inc long made for Mr.Bulter him self.. made with green bear glass and the riser is 16inc long.... it's has to lams of core wood and is 43@28 he made this bow in 1964 the last bow he made and he was shooting up to 1992 when he could not pull it any more..
I have never liked shrot bows but there is some thing about this one...
Ok guys the next pics are of each bow...
first is the top target bow for his wife..
Shot of the arrow rest side
this is what makes the bow sand out to me is the shape of the riser
I have a bow he gave me just like it but made for hunting it's the only 65@26 he ever made..
Next is the bow with the side layer of glass. his is also the target/hunting bow
the coin side
and some more glass on the back of the bow..
