Contemplating SUICIDE !!!
« on: August 17, 2009, 06:32:00 PM »
Ok.......I sold a bow on the bay. Been looking around, found a couple 67 1/2 super Ks and broke the bank and spending money coming on another.

Bought a couple things I "needed" with paypal money...

Saw this coming up...thought "NA! Not gonna have enough to hang that on the wall next to the Super Ks".    :banghead:            :banghead:            :banghead:

SlowBoke,
There is a SuperMagnum Listed in the TG classifieds right now for 150.00.  48", 41#'s.
That is a fair price I think! Check it out!

A fair price for sure but not a 60s, all black one like the Super Ks from 67.

I may have a lead on one here though.
Thanks for the heads up, anyway.

Hi Steve,
I didn't realize you were looking for a 60's Super Mag. Good luck in finding one! (especially at the price you missed).  I'll bet at the wieght of the one that got away it would be difficult to shoot, wasn't it in the 58-59pound range? anyway, best of luck.
Harry.

Steve,
I Indiana is anything like N. Ky, it's all thick stuff! All of that overgrown farm land and brush choked ridges and hollows. Very little clear oak flats or ag areas where I hunt. (public land).
A short bow would come in handy. I am refinishing
a K-Mag, 55lbs just for that purpose! Best of luck to you.

Slowbowke

My collection is built around me and my wife's birthdays. Tracy was born in 1975, not a big year for bear archery. I was born in 1967, July 1 1967 and form the info I've been able to gather the "new" 67 1/2 models where introduced either june or July 1.

The holly grail for my collection would be a 1967 1/2 super Kodiak(could never afford a red one even if I could find it) but I've been looking for a super mag as well. 58 pounds didn't put me off but I too am experiencing a shortage of expendables right now, yep flat broke and I watched that bow go else where with a heavy hart. Since I don't ave the cash you might want to do a little esham search, there is another one listed that is 45#. Have fun!

Oh well next month might be better and Tracy just picked up her first classic a 1955 Kodiak special, never said it had to be a 67 or 75 for us to buy it.

BTW on the Pearson side of the collection I'd love to get my hands on a 1967 golden sovereign mase! Not one of the more attractive bows but for some reason it just speaks to me.
Just this Alaskan's opinion

is somewhat true here in N. IN except all the "thick stuff" is 8 feet tall, green and ends up getting picked right before or during season, lol.

I do have a "jungle" in the area I hunt but I hunt the edges.

Still looking at Black Beauty 67 1/2 bows, found one, got another in the wings that "I just gotta have" dontchaknow but I think a "matching" 48 inch Super Mag would make for a nice looking wall rack and about as much (or more) than I have to spend most times.

That one just looked to be in nice shape and 40 precent of the cost of most I see for sale.

I could have bid, knowing a buddy would have helped me on a few bucks but really feel that the "last second winning bidder" put in a LOT more than that, but certainly made a good buy with no one else still bidding.

It was a beaut, I thought! Missing a few is like deer hunting. The ones you don't get a good shot at makes the ones you connect on just that much more valuable to you, IMHO.

Boy would I be bored if I won Powerball......no challenge left!   :goldtooth:

God Bless!
