They are far from being virgins Jim. All 3 of them were in very poor condition at one time. Replaced tip overlays and leather grips, the grizs lost their original silkscreens in the restoration process, holes filled, huge gauge in the riser for the Alaskan, 3-River aftermarket repro coin on the 1959 Griz, deep scratches that still show on the glass, name it. All violated bows before I got them.
I don’t think I would ever drill or even refinish a well preserved vintage bow but in this case, I feel I would do no harm to their collector value in any way.
I bought these bows to use them. I was not feeling very comfortable using my other collectables in the woods.
