Info on Mrs. A.M Phillips Target archer

Hello Guys, Do any of you guys know any info on Mrs. A.M Phillips ?.. All I realy know is that she was from Battle Creek Michigan. And was a Top woman Archer.. Any info would be great.. Also Maybe one of you guys have an arrow or a bow that she used or more photo's...

cody....What was the shoot these two items you have....I have her winning th NAA in 1887-88-89/9th-10th-11th NAA Annual Meeting also the NAA Flight Chhampton 1886-87

Morring Hink, The top is a photo of her that has writing just telling what shoots she won and shot in.. The other is out of a news paper I so think.. I realy have no clue... I don't no any more info I wish I did..

Interesting.....I'll have to dig around to see what shoot it was. The first NAA was 1879 and she didn't win that or place in the top 20 if more woman shot then that I don't know.  Mrs Spalding Brown,Hasting, Mi. won the first meet.

Cody -

Undoubted the family's best known archer of the 1800 and 1900s. She was much better with a bow then her husband, who was a Dr.

In 1886 she placed 2nd, then won 1887, 1888 & 1889 as Hink mentioned. She took a sabbatical for a number of years, then in 1905 she placed 2nd again to Mrs. Howell, who had also won in 1886.

I may be mistaken on this but I think Howell won every national tournament she entered from 1885 to 1905 except the three years 1887, 1888 & 1889.

This old brownish photograph was probably made from the same negative as your Newspaper clipping, but your clipping retains more detail then this image....
